
Josef Mazan is a classical guitarist and composer. After studying at the Prague Conservatory (with Prof. M. Zelenka), he continued at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (with Prof. Š. Rak), where he earned a Doctor of Arts degree in 2017. He performs in Europe and Asia. He has given concerts in prestigious world venues such as the Rudolfinum (Czech Republic), Tokyo Opera City (Japan), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid, Spain), Royal Albert Hall (London, England), Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall (Japan), etc. In 2022, he won first prize in the Zwolle International Guitar Competition in Holland.
